Well, join the crowd, as I'm worried too!! I've always used Lacquer on a polished gauge. So far, I haven't seen the lacquer fall off, but that could just be luck. I've heard that airplane dope will resist the new "gas". I would really worry about my gas gauge if I'd used one of the many Repro plastic magnifying lenses that I've seen sold. I've already replaced one that turned milky. Factory lenses were glass! David D.
