Cleaning / washing a rag top...what to use ?

Being new at the Model A biz... I've lucked out and recently acquired a new rag top for my Roadster.
It's a Lebaron Bonney top that's been sitting in some fella shop for ten years or so - never used. By and large it's in excellent shape.Over time however, it's gotten dirty here and there and some minor stains.
What does a guy use to clean these tops ?Any tricks of the trade?
