rivets

Hi;
1930 model A Ford, coupe, standard, 45B
( REPLACING SUBRAIL )
1. do rivets have to be hot when installing?
2. how hot is hot?
3. what source of heat should be used?
4. how is the alignment of the old subrail maintained
so other parts will fit (doors, body, etc).
5. is a dolly and hammer used to peen the rivets?
6. would it be better to replace the rear half of the
subrails only and weld it to the existing subrail?
7. are any publications available covering subrail re-
placement?
