Michael,

I used that method to straighten my frame. However I did not have the steel rails. I just used a long timber chain. I looped the chain over the frame so there was a length hanging down on both sides of the rail that was bent. Then I put a short piece (one foot long) of 2 by 6 across the two chains under the part of the frame which was bent (right under the rear engine support). Then I put a jack on the block of wood and and raised it until the frame was fixed. A few words to the wise. Use a block of wood between the jack and the bottom of the farme. Put something in the U space between the upper and lower parts of the frame rail or the bottom part of the rail will deform. You have to bend the rail past straight since it will 'rebound' after you release the jack. Take you time, do not try to fix it on the first try. There is a LOT OF PRESSURE between the jack and chain, if the jack slips out it will be moving at high speed so be VERY CAREFUL. I used a very very tight string going from the front to the back of the rail to check for straightness.Be sure to check the frame for square by measuring diagonally.Good Luck

Bob
