Kevin,
It still may be the water pump front roller bearing. I rebuilt mine using the original style roller bearing and had the noise. You should hear the bearing with a stethescope. It is fun playing Doctor. I put the scope on everything in the front of the engine and by far the loudest noise was from the front water pump bearing. You know the rest of the story!
