I hear you on the slow speed characteristics of the Model AA truck with the 7.XX to 1 (low speed) rear ends.

Ford supplied the AA trucks with some three different types of rear end, each with a high speed and low speed version.Hence there are 6 different ratio options, the slowest being 7.25 to 1, and the fastest being 5.11 to 1.None of these are racecars with a maximum speed in the 45 mph range and most less.

See Bill Gattis's inquiry referenced below which began on August 9.(Bill apparently wanted a Warford to solve the same problem you're having with the AA truck)Bill and myself answer Ken's questions regarding the available transmission options for the AA trucks and discuss further the "dual high".

If you follow the thread out to the end, you'll eventually get to my response(s) to Ken on Jim Schild's book on the AA truck. This book is the best available source I know on the truck.

Best regards,
Joe
