Dave,

I'm always willing to take two more cents worth! I might not get rich, but a I just might get a little smarter and by the time I get this fixed I might have enough money for a cup of coffee. Thanks for the advice.I have the micro screen in the tank, the one in the sediment bowl, and a micro in the carb itself. The tank has also just been refurbished and sealed. If there's crud in the carb I'll eat my spare tire cover!

The float itself is a very good repro and there's only a shiny spot in the area you refered to. (Marco's Page)Seems to me it could be the float valve, but more likely the overly shimmed "repro" cap (CRAP) jet I installed. It fell well short of the 1-5/32" length required by Les's book.I had to put a total of 3 fiber washers under it to reach the height of the venturi transition as he suggests. The fuel is probably seeping by the minimal thread engagement.Oh well just chalk it up inexperience! When am I gonna listen to you guys.GW offered some great suggestions on bench testing the lower carb casting.I'm sure it'll be off the car soon enough but first maybe a picnic in the park with the "A" and the wife. You're so right.Gotta keep the wife happy!

Thanks again,

Kevin Daly
