: I recently installed an LB interior on my '30 tudor. My problem, believe it or not, is that I can't seem to get the window handles attached. I've tried pressing as hard as possible, but it seems that the escutcheon will not go back toward the panel far enough for me to slip the handle on. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong. I would certainly appreciate any help I could get.
: Thanks, in advance, for your assistance.
: PS. The car didn't have an interior (panels, handles, etc.) when I bought it.

Dave,

If your car has reproduction window regulators (identifiable by the cad plated shaft), then they are usually short and you will need to improvise.

Which style handles are you installing?Through May 1930 plain type window cranks were used and were attached with set screws. The regulator shaft had a diagonal split that would be spread by the pointed set screw. The deluxe "scroll design" handles were used on all subsequent production. These required a pin through the handle and a corresponding hole in the regulator shaft. If you can push the escutcheon back far enough to see straight down through half of the diameter of the hole in the regulator shaft, you'll be able to install the window crank.

If you have deluxe type handles with the "Vintique" label I highly recommend that you either return them or calmly discard them (wouldn't want them to hit something valuable at a weak moment!).They not only don't look like Model A handles, they will not work without modification to both the handle and the regulator shaft.

If this brings up any specific questions let me know.
