: Some where...I left myself a note! But after 20 years it seems to have dissapeared. Can anyone tell me what colors and how much, you're supposed to mix with linsead oil for doing the wood graining on the dash and window reveals? I seem to remember using a tan for the laquer base, and then mixing Rust, Brown and ? (possibly Black) with the linsead oil. Can anyone help me with that mix?

: Thanks for any help.

The reference source your looking for is the "Model A Ford Paint and Refinish Guide" published by MAFCA.. If you want a mahogany wood grain the base color is rust red. The walnut used a tan-yellow base coat. The top coat is
3 parts flat black enamel
3 parts gloss brown enamel (or semigloss)
1 part boiled linseed oil
use only enamels. 1_shot enamel (sign painters enamel) works great.

Also check out "How to resotre your Model A' Volume 2 form MAFCA.

Good Luck
