With a heavy bar-about 1" in dia. (an old 2 tooth gear and shaft is what I use ,) you can drive the old gear off cold. HGit it several times and rotate as you're hitting it. In about two minutes it will fall off. To replace with a new a new gear you can use a torch or cook it in a charcoal bar-b cue until its hot -about 15 minutes withe coals red . Using a set of tongs it will almost drop on. B esure to keep the ring from cocking. Good luck Don.
: I used my torch and heated four places (red hot) equal distance around the circumference of the ring gear; then used a brass drift and ball pein hammer. The ring came off..... and in a pinch could be repositioned and possibly used again.... Although because of the effortinvolved a new one is the way to go.....
