Insert Bearings

It seems like anyone offering insert bearings in a Model A also uses full pressure oiling. Is this a case of if you are going to go so far as to use inserts, you might as well go for pressure oiling, or is there a better reason (or if babbit will work with the model A oiling system, why not inserts, too)? Also, if anyone out there is willing to share the info, what is done about the thrust part of the bearing on the rods when inserts are used?
