Mike, I put the jack under the axel close to the wheel that I want to jack up, front or rear. If you are going to shake the wheels to check for shimmy then PUT a block or a jack stand under the axel or frame to support the car if the jack fails. In this case I would put a block or jack stand under the axel and lower the jack so the block or jack stand is supporting the car before I started shaking the wheel. Bob |
