Scott-
I lightened the multidisk flywheel in my 28 Fordor about 10 lbs - cut the outer and forward part of the flywheel, leaving about 1/2" to support the ring gear.I also had counterweights added to the crank, insert bearings, stock oiling system except ran a short line from the oil galley around the oil pump shaft to the center main for more oil flow to that bearing.I also added a Brumfield high compression head (6:1).The engine runs great, my only gripe is more oil leakage from the rear main than I like - it has the "modern" rubber seal installed, and it doesn't seal enough!
Good luck on your truck.

: There has been plenty of discussion of the merits (or not) of a counterbalanced crank in an A, plus the requisite lightening of the flywheel.Does any one have any experience or comment about doing this with the multiple disk clutch flywheel? It shouldn't be a problem...remove metal in the places seemingly obvious to the machinest in non-critical locations. The work is sitting in progress on the lathe, but if anyone has any comments...

: Getting it together like this with a complete balance job should take a lot of the vibration out from that solid front motor mount. It will also run inserts and a few other internal mods. It is going in the truck in the picture.
