This one sounds like a job for the old "build up with weld, machine down and rethread school."This may be complicated by whether your steering column is splined or keyed, the spline version requiring more welding skill so as to not overrun and ruin the spline.

As to the screw thread, see a later response around January 30 on removal of the steering wheel.Scroll down or use your "find" feature (it's under "edit" on my browser.) and you'll see discussion regarding use of a rear hub remover to remove the steering wheel.

My 1932 Parts price list shows the steering wheel nut as part #33947-S which is a 5/8-18 hex nut.The part number for the rear axle to rear hub (#34034-S18) shows the same thread.

If it were mine to do, I would engage the services of a local machine shop to build up with weld, and machine down the internal and external diameters using a lathe, and then thread while still chucked. As you will see in the Jan 30 discussion thread, Brattons may be a non-local source for the same work.

Good luck.

Joe
