A couple of things I find interesting.

You state in your long post that even you and/or your father cringe at the though of the '28 AR with the Chevy engine.Maybe it's just me, but I see nothing that is "preserving" any antique car by chopping it up and stuffing a big block under the hood.

Another thing that bothers me is in the for sale ads for rods that I can stand to look at (I can't look at too many for too long) there is often a reference to how rare the vehicle was (I.E. recent edition of Old Car Trader - '33 Ford Pheaton - Rare - only 2700 produced - followed by 350 chevy, 4 bar suspntion, etc).It was a rare car but I decided to destroy it by chopping it up and making a rod out of it anyway.

Sorry, getting emotional again.Anyway, I don't have any problem with someone making adapters to put something like you mentioned a flathead under the hood, but for goodness sake leave the original car there so it can be put back.

I guess no matter what anyone says, some people are going to do what they want, but I still don't see how someone can take any old vehicle and modify it to the point that it will never be as it was again. There are only so many old cars left, whether they be Model A's or any others, and once they're gon, they're gone. It's not like anyone can make any more originals appear.

Just me thoughs.I'm not taking personal pot shots at anyone so please don't take it that way. It's tough to put "emotion" in to email so no one takes it the wrong way.As for me, I'll keep any old car I find the way it was when it was new.
