: and upon, stripping i found my push rods do not exist.
: what is correct procedure for adjusting tappets?
: the manual says adjustable push rods?
: do i grind valves?
: or change the cam?
: or use shims?
: PLEASE help this is most confusing
: also there is supposed to be a removable plate ant the bottem of the sump to remove the oil pump, this is also does not exist?
: any theories?

Just a point of interest (mine anyway!). When you spend to much time in the old books and original records, one grows used to the era nomenclature. What we call "tappets", Ford engineering called "A-6500 Valve push rod"!
