: Just installed engine that had been sitting for three years. Runs on three cylinders.I used the distributor, rotor, plugs and wires from engine that ran 3 days ago.No spark to # 1 plug or at the distributor body where the plug wire attaches. Tried different distributor body, rotor, plugs, even the wires.Still no spark.Have adjusted timing thinking that somehow it would make a difference.Any suggestions on what to try next.Could the body have gone bad, but two of them? Thanks.

G'Day Bob,
You don't mention whether you've checked your point gap, could be that if the distributor bushes are worn or the points cam is worn on that particular lobe & the points aren't opening fully or at all. Remove the distributor body & rotor then with the ignition on turn the engine by hand & check whether you're getting spark from the coil H.T. lead to ground every time the points open. If yes the distributor body would seem to be faulty, if no then the problem lies somewhere in depths of the distributor.
