Barry - I don't know if this will help, but it may be worth a try. Here in Texas the Dept. of Motor Vehicles has a list called "review of Texas passenger car license plates" which gives examples as well as colors of all the Texas plates issued since 1917 when plates were first issued here. You may want to try to contact the Missouri DMV and see if they have such a list. Good luck.
