:I recently replaced the fuel shutoff valve that screws into the bottom of the gas tank.It is a repro valve. When the valve is turned off it does not leak. However, when it is open, there seems to be a slight leak where the fuel line screws on.By slight, I mean maybe one drop will collect on the shutoff valve and drip onto the floor mat every couple of minutes.I have tightened the fitting quite tight and I am afraid of cracking it if I tighten it much more.Any suggestions as to how I might stop the leak.By the way, the fuel line as well as the glass sediment bowl are repros.

G'Day Wayne,
If as it sounds, your problem stems from the gas line to shut-off valve being a poor fit, you could try removing both & re-assembling the connection with a bit of valve grinding compound on the flare. Tighten the fitting tight enough by hand to get a bit of resistance, & twist the pipe back & forth in a rotary motion, holding the fitting so it doesn't unscrew. You'll soon see once you remove the pipe & clean off the compound whether or not you're getting full contact. If not repeat the process until you do.
