I have never gotten the top bushing out without simply tearing it apart. The last time I actually had to "break" it out.Wear you safety glasses it comes out in little pieces. The repo bushings I have used don't have the holes in them.In one case I drilled and taped after It was installed and in the second one I didn't put them in. The next problem you will have is the size of the new one.All that I have installed have been to big.I ended up sanding, it down until it would fit.Be careful I once bought 3 to get one installed properly. I have used new welded in balls on all the linkage for the steering,Made my '29 Pickup steer like a modern car.I bought my first one then have replaced the balls myself on the last restoration I did.I think the ball alone are $2-3 each. Just have to have a good welder nearby to make the weld. Good luck Jon. |
