: I just bought a Model A deluxe coupe. It was supposed to have been a 1930 model. The engine is a 1931. There is some evidence that the vehicle is a 1931. The body number is 166-3809. Is there a list which would identify this? Is there some other way to positively identify the real age?

Your body serial number tells me your car is either early 30 or early 31. The 166 is the numerical designation for a coupe and the 3809 is the body production number. Since there were about 29,000 built in '30 and about 23,000 built in '31 it seems your car would fall into the early production era for either year. I don't have the info on which year the 166 prefix is unfotrunately. The coupes and fordoor sedans are the only body styles I haven't got. If you find out what your car is, please let me know so I can place it on my body identification chart. Thanks.
