: I am replacing a faulty modern electrical switch and small armored cable on my 1929 Tudor Sedan. I know how to take everything apart and re-assemble from the books I have and the advice from my friends on the Chat and the Model A-FORD BOARD.

: I have an ORIGINAL working Pop-Out Switch and a NEW armored cable(purchased at Bratton's) to install into an ORIGINAL DISTRIBUTOR.

: My question is this: should I use electrical Ignition and battery spray(purchased at NAPA Auto Parts) at any of the electrical connections?

: I AM ESPECIALLY INTERESTED TO KNOW IF THIS IGNITION SPRAY SHOULD BE USED AT THE THREADED CONNECTION AT OR IN THE DISTRIBUTOR THREADED OPENING.

: I want to protect my system from any moisture problems. Please advise.

Ken,
I don't think you need to go to that extent to have a good working electrical system. The most important thing you can do is to keep the connections clean an tight.I have actually driven my model A during the remains of a tropical rain storm and 2 hurricanes. The only time a had a hint of a problem was onepuddle (I didn't see it at night) I hit and the spray came up over the hood. The motor coughed a couple of times, but then it dried off and I continued on my way.The hurricanes caused no problem at all.

In all that torrential rain, I can say the Model A ran fine.So I think Henry designed a pretty good system and as long as things are clean and tight you should be fine.
Doug
p.s. Almost every long trip we've taken in the A we've hit some kind of major storm...the club won't let me plan any moreof the trips.
