The most definitive way to get close to the year of the car is to check the number stamped on the top of the frame, just aft of the front body bolt on the driver's (left) side.Of course if the body and splash aprons are still on the frame, that's impossible. You can't assume the engine now in the car is original, but it could be.By 1931, the engine could have been made and serial-numbered 2-3 months BEFORE the car was assembled as there was a surplus of engines.

"What Year Is It?"
1930 Model A's had two piece running board aprons, 1931 had one piece aprons.
Most 1930 Model A's had stainless (not chrome plated steel) radiator shells with a painted insert at the bottom.Ford Logo was white on blue.
Most 1931 Model A's had the stainless shell with inserts at the bottom AND the top.Ford Logo was stainless with black letters.

Deluxe Coupes had cowl lights, a dome light, deluxe upholstery (mohair) and other deluxe features.Standard coupes did not.Either could have had a rumble seat or trunk.

If you can provide me a picture of your car and/or a detailed explanation of what you notice about your car, we can narrow it down farther.
