These stems are quite reliable -leaking and flat-wise.
The show-level stems sold by A and L are so good that they
have a few of the judges confused! One poor fellow with
originals actually got marked down because they thought he
must have A and L "repros" - they were so nice! Yes, originals
are very, very expensive. Also rare. You need a real good
reason for buying a set of them. The stems are NOT vulcanized.

My only justification for owning the metal stems is that they're
pretty. They will sell you just the stems, so you can chop
off your rubber stems and install in your old tubes.
