Marco,
The car had an electric motor on it when I bought the car but
it was'nt an original. There was a toggle switch wired to the
inside of the car and did'nt look "sanitary", so that's why I
took it off. I also had to take it off to put my new interior
in the car. As far as holes in the windshield frame, I have
four or five drilled in it where this other motor and the switch were located. Do you think I should just put the electric one back on? It looks close to an original but was
made 10-15 yrs ago in Japan. Thanks, Andy.

: Andy, Your car originally had an electric wiper. The electric wipers used different design arms and blades than vacuum wipers. There is a diagram of the body wiring for your car in the Ford Service Bulletins page 291 (Oct. '28). you would find it interesting if you can look at someones copy.

: Your car wasn't designed for a vacuum wiper since they weren't introduced until sometime later. If you want to use vacuum, I would suggest changing the intake manifold because they are easy to come by. You will still need to redrill the windshield frame, drill an extra hole in the firewall, and find a way to conceal the vacuum line up the right windshield pillar since I don't think it will fit like the later models.

: With all that said, you may want to reconsider using electric. Originals are somewhat expensive but out there.

: Can someone else help Andy with the pros & cons of modern replacements?

: Marco
