Auto batteries have one cell for each two volts, i.e. a six volt battery will have three cells, eight volt four cells, Etc. It's not likely the starter and generator have been modified for 12 volts or the the seller would have boasted (although I would have expressed the effort necessary to put it back right!).
: I have bought a 28 sports coup. The battery has no markings and I do not know if it is 12 or 6 volts. It should be 6 volts, but it seems a lot of things have changed.Does anyone know if I measure the indedence of thwe coil for the generator or starter. 12 v or 6 v should read different in thier coils. Any hints?? Thanks Tony
