Bob is right, this subject has been chewed more than yesterdays hash. Opinions on motor oil are like ear lobes, everyone has at least one and sometime two. Scroll back several months and you'll find the subject discussedad nauseum.

Personally I won't allow multi-viscosity oil on the premisis. Period. The result of a bad experience with a REAL expensive diesel engine.

I use Castrol 30 wt in everything on the ranch from motorhome to Model A and all in between. The Motorhome gets a dose of 40wt in the summer. The Model A gets an oil change at 500 mile intervals or when I can't see the F clearly on the dipstick through the oil. Whichever is sooner. I also use an oil additive but would rather not endorse something over the net just because it works for me.

If you want to know more than you need to know about oil go to the following sites: www.lubrizol.com and click on reference library, also www.yondar.com/yondar/course.htm. If you digest all that is in those two sites you'll be up to speed on oil and that's a fact.

God Speed Under 50.

The Model A Fool.
