Wingshaft clearances

What I've never seen in shock absorber writings is a statement of the necessary diametric clearance between the wingshaft ends, and the housing bore, and the wing dams and the center diameter of the wingshaft hub.
also the clearance between the top/bottom surfaces, and the wings with the inner cap screwed down.It appears that these would have to be quite small to meet the leakage specs in the service bulletins.
The truth is out there somewhere -
