: My Zenith carb. leaks and I think it's the float valve.
: I want to replace it with one I saw in Brattion's catalog, a modern, needle type rubber tip float valve used on modern cars.
: Doe's anyone have any experience with this valve? What modern cars is it used on?

: Thank you for any advice.

Dick-
I don't trust any Model A carb float valve, but have had the best success with the 3-ball type made by Grose.Any valve has the potential to leak as the pressure from the gas tank is constant unless a modern shut-off valve in place in the gas line between the sediment bowl on the firewall and the carb, as the undertank valves invariable have a slow leak. This won't cause a massive leak at the carb, but will result in a chronically "wet" carb on its bottom. Many Model A's have been lost due to garage fires or explosions due to gasoline fumes, and the only way to be sure to keep the carb dry is this modern brass inline valve.
