Dick,
I have used the new float valves on a few carbs that I have rebuilt and they work. You may need to reset the float level, which you can do with the guage that Brattons sells. The level should be 5/8 of an inch below the joint of the upper and lower carb. housings. There could be a leak in the cap jet where it is joined together.
