: You need a type 1 (I think that's what they call them) six volt battery.Your local Walmart sells them (ie there ain't nothin' special about them).
Also, the Model A is a POSITIVE GROUND auto.Your + terminal does go to the frame.Could it be that you were trying to charge it up backwards?
