Late 31 pick-up

Another Grain Bed pick-up question: The tailgate on my late 31 pick-up does not have the "Ford" script on it. Should it?Also, there is alot of red colored sediment that comes from my gas tank & clogs the carb. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this? It seems to be flaking of off the gas tank walls.
