: Does anyone know of an easy way to fill the pit marks in wheels. I have some Model A and AA wheels that have pitted over the years. Some are very small [ pencil point] pits and others have depressions the size of a pencil eraser. I'd be interested in hearing of different methods of filling or repairing these. Thanks once again!
Walt, Paul covers the subject very well.It aint easy.If it was we probably wouldn't see so many otherwise nicely restored cars with really marginal wheels.Paul is also correct in that it really makes your car look terrific if you can take the time to properly refinish the wheels.

I am not familiar with the product Paul mentions, but have used what is commonly called "spot putty" for pitted wheels. It is available at any auto paint supplier and comes in a tube like toothpaste. It's not easy to finish sanding around the spokes, and I don't know about the compatability with powder coating if that is what you have planned;check with your coater first.

Good luck.I think you'll be happy an proud of nicely restored wheels. I am.Dave.
