Steering wheel removal

I have a question. With the steering column out of the car and lashed securely to a steel welding table. A 1/4 inch chain secured one end to the steering wheel and the other to the motorhome. How much slack should I leave in the chain to insure enough of a head start to gain the momentum to generate the force required to dislodge the steering wheel?
That steering wheel is on there. It's been soaking in liquid wrench with pressure from one of my jury rigged pullers for three days and no movement in sight. Somethings going to happen pretty soon or I'll be scratching the noggin fer sure! Hate to ruin the wheel because it's in pretty good shape. Quien sabe'?
