: I have the same problem. My 1929 coupe is registered as a 1930 coupe. It goes back to the serial number on the engine.I looked up mine and it showed 1930 was the year my engine was built and thus the engine was replaced on my car at one time before I got it.I believe there are no other differences in the engine core, but others may help point those out.

Hi Jerome,
Thanks for your reply.
Well, I´m having some serious problems with the
registration of my car. You see, the registration
card, issued on the 1st January 1930 states it is
a 1929 model, but the exterior is a 1930 one.
Maybe it has a 1929 engine?
Maybe the registration card is of another car?
(In fact the engine number doesn´t coincide).
Either way I´m stuck with a big problem,
I´ve spent 4 years restoring the car, and now
I can´t register it!
That´s why I´m trying to find out when (month and year)
was the Model A 1930 first produced...
