I have the same problem.My 1929 coupe is registered as a 1930 coupe.It goes back to the serial number on the engine.I looked up mine and it showed 1930 was the year my engine was built and thus the engine was replaced on my car at one time before I got it.I believe there are no other differences in the engine core, but others may help point those out.
