I experienced the same problem with my '31. The first year of driving I had a fit with trash coming from the tank. Rather than remove the tank I emptied all the gas and in it's place poured in about 3 gals of lacquer thinner which I let soak over night. Nasty stuff when it came out. Next I used mineral spirits for an overnite. Emptied and once again nasty stuff. Three applications of mineral spirits and it started to clean up. Since then I have had intermittant problems but nothing like before. The new reformulated gas is a lot to blame for all the years of accumulated chit coming loose in the tanks. My opinion.
