:My 30 four door murray has a 5/8"hole on the left side of dash panel-lower left. Anybody know what this hole might be for? I visited a fellow today who has a 31 pickup and he also has the same size hole in the same general area.Any Ideas!
I've seen this hole too.Here's my guess:
After WWII, many Model A's on the road were "modernized" by adding a solenoid-type starter switch and a push-button starter.The hole you have on your dash is where the button would have been located.
Another theory is that a push-pull type headlight switch could have been added to replace the original steering-column switch that we all have come to love!
