WHAT'S THE HOLE FOR ?

My 30 four door murray has a 5/8"hole on the left side of dash panel-lower left. Anybody know what this hole might be for? I visited a fellow today who has a 31 pickup and he also has the same size hole in the same general area.Any Ideas!
