Carb, shackles, and fit of the hood

1st Question: My 31 Coup has a "Sears" carb. I am told. I am having problemsand would like to replace the carb. Will I be able to find anoriginal one or should I purchase a "new" one ie reproduction? If I found an "original" would it perhaps be rebuilt any way?
2nd Question: I have the original type zerk fitting on the car and have managed to get grease thru all except for the shackles fittings. Are the zerk fittings threaded or press fit? Should I Plan on removing the shackles so they can be cleaned and restored...I'am told this is difficult because of the spring tension.
Last Question: The hood fit is bad. It is as if the radiator end was low causing the lower rear portion of the hood to extend over the cowl by half a inch. I can't figure out where to start to look for the PROBLEM.
