No problem - I do it all the time. I use LIGHT duty cables (aluminum is OK)and leave the 6 volt battery in the circuit. Match the polarity, and DON'T leave the cables connected any longer than you have to - they'll get warm. There'll be a lot of sparking when you connect. I connect the positive to the frame or motor - wherever I can find bare metal, and the negative to the post on the starter. start it immediately and disconnect. |
