if i remember right...henry used a special steel for the gas
tanks the required mercury to be added to weld the seams.
my guess is you won't be able to lead the tank...i hope i'm
wrong.if i'm right you'll have to pick up a better tank.

: My '28 tudor gas tank has rust pits completely thru in the weld area where the windshield frame rests on the tank.I have carefully sandblasted these pits and then used muriatic acid in prepartion for leading.I am having trouble tining down inside the pits.You can't sand down into them; you need some kind of chemical treatment.I rinse off the muriatic, then applly the liquid solder flux; it doesn't work that well.I want it to flow on like it does with copper and brass.Any help is greatly appreciated.
