I've just installed a Nu-Rex alternator like Ken's, and mine does the same thing.When first started, the ammeter reads around +10, then quickly moves back to near 0 or slightly positive with no fluctuation.I also have a new battery, which is fully charged, therefore I wouldn't expect to see much charging action.
