:The "serial number" can be found near the left front body mounting hole, and is stamped on the top of the frame.If it is still legible, you can tell what month the car was built by comparing the number with the information regarding monthly assembly figures.

The date of assembly CANNOT be exactly determined from the number stamped on top of the frame.That only indicates the date of manufacture of the ENGINE first installed in the frame, and they were typically 1-3 months BEFORE the car was assembled.MAFCA/MARC judging standards point this out.However, it IS the best way to determine the approximate date the car was assembled.Just don't believe you can pinpoint the date based on that number.
