: I have scraped my chassis clean around the front body mount bolts on both sides but can't find "hide nor hair" of any numbers ever being stamped there. Does anyone know if the Canadian chassis was stamped, or was it maybe stamped in a different place from the American models?. The local club members say they've never come across a number & nothing is mentioned in the judging standards Canadian model supplements which I've just received.
: Thankx

DJ. - Canadian Model A's did initially have the frame serial number, which was the same as the factory engine number, stamped in the same place as the USA cars. This practice of stamping the serial numbers was stopped in late 1928 or some claim early 1929.At any rate, you definitely will not find aframe serial number from early 29 on.Canadian A's also stamped an assembly date in the gastank above the cowl flange in line above the steering column. This again was stopped in late 28 or early 29.Most Canadian A's(1928 - 1931) do have a body serial number which is stamped into the body cross frame between the seat and driver's heel. (Just lift up floor mat and you should be able to find it.It will likely start with a capital letter and then be followed with a number. It is thought that the letter indicated the assembly plant. My number on my 30 Tudor is T2727.It is thought that the "T" means the car was assembled at the Toronto plant.Remember that the main Canadian Ford plant was in Windsor, Ontario. (This was also referred to as Walkerville, Ont. or Ford, Ontario.)Engines were built there along with other parts and then they were shipped to various Canadian plants to be assembled. The Canadian Standards supplement makes reference to these plants.Let me know if you can find a body serial number on your car.
