There is a front seal which is of the "Rope" type. It's divided between the timing cover and the front of the oil pan.

Oil can leak out around the pully shaft if the pully is loose on the crank, the seal is bad, or if the pully shaft surface is worn.If the pully is a "Split" type where the pully and the shaft are separate, cracking of the inner piece, or looseness on the crankshaft can cause leaks.

First check for loose pan bolts. Then check for a loose pulley on the crankshaft.

Then check the condition of the seal surface on the crankshaft pully. This can be done by removing the radiator, and then the timing cover. Check the condition of the rope seal in the timing cover. If the pully shaft is grooved deeply, the seal may not be able to function.

If all's well otherwise, then the seal can be replaced.Be sure to soak the seal halves in oil for a good long time (a week or two) before installing.Don't cut the seal flush with the mating half surface, but leave about 1/32" hanging out each end so that you get some compression when it's bolted together. The plug in the block skirt where the oil pump lives can be replaced with a bolt (don't tighten it too much)to hold the pump in place when you remove the pan.
