The person at the paint shop (who has been great at matching colors for several cars for us) dug around and came up with a formula from somewhere that was an excellent match for the ford factory paint still on the firewall and gas tank on the car. The code was RS388K M, the mixing breakdown for 2 quarts was: 867J Red, 142.1; 806J HS Black, 277.5; 802J LS White, 66.1; 864J Magenta, 2.6; 150K B/C Balancer, 937.6; 175K Binder, 292.9. The mixing stuff should be meaningful to the paint shop, but mostly just as a way to double check what you might find. If you want any more info feel free send e-mail.

Just a short comment on the use of DuPont ChromaBase product.
I have used it for Ford Maroon simulation. In fact, I just used it last weekend. As Scott says, this product comes in two parts: a color base, and a clear gloss coat. I thought the final result was glossier than what I've seen for Model A's. Too glossy for my taste. More like the finish on modern cars than the deep, subdued laquer finish I have on the black parts of my A. I don't know what the judging standards are, however, regarding the finish gloss. So this is just my personal impression. Other than that, it was fine.
