1929 Headlight Switch

Hi All.
Has anyone out there given up on the reproduction Model A headlight switches besides me?I've tried 3 of them - the first worked okay for a few years, then it wouldn't operate on the high beam circuit.I tried 2 other switches with the same result.I even replaced the spider gear at the switch, thinking the old one might have a little wear in it (which I don't think it did).But the high beams still won't come on.
Is there a decent headlight switch made anywhere these days?I would've used my old original, but it was totally shot!Too bad some of the old parts suppliers (e.g., Niehoff) don't still make these things!Oh well...
