Leaking Rear Main Seal

I recently procured my first Model "A".A very clean 1931 Tudor Sedan. The car is an older restoration (restored 25 years ago) and runs quite well.I plan on using the car as a fair weather driver and am working out a few minor bugs. The engine was reportedly bebuilt when the car was restored and has had less than 2,000 miles put on it in the last 25 years. However, the rear main seal in leaking quite badly and I am preparing to drop the oil pan and take a look at things.I am still in the process of gathering information about the Model "A" but I have a few questions that I would like to ask those persons knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the vehicle. Is the leaking rear main seal an indicator of a more serious problem (ie.bad crank bearings)?Could the rear main seal have failed as a result of longterm storage (ie. do they dry out or crack)?.What parts in addition to the front and rear seals and oil pan gaskets should I have on hand? Are there other things I should do right while I have the oil pan off (ie. replace oil pump, check main and rod bearings)? Is the rear main seal a weak spot that is troublesome in general? What is the best way of cleaning up the clutch in the event that I find it is oily (so far the clutch does not chatter)? Are there any little tricks to doing a rear main seal replacement?Any pointers or information would be appreciated.
