: I just bought a replacement brake/clutch pedal shaft kit from Snyder's.Now I'm trying to figure out how to remove the old shaft without removing the clutch housing from the car.I can't seem to find any references to how the shaft is retained and removed in any of the reference books i've purchased thus far. Thanks in advance for your help>

Good advice from Jack and Bob..I recall replacing my clutch and brake pedal shaft.Kind of a nightmare..One thing I do remember is that the shaft diameter is a pretty tight fit into the hole. The replacement shaft will probably have a chamfer on the end of it, so file that end good to remove the minute upset caused by the chamfer tool. Then file a slight angle on the end to allow the shaft to enter the hole correctly.Use some assembly lube (white grease) or Lubliplate (molybdenum disulfate) to help drive the shaft into the hole.
